Academy Joins Hands with Shenzhen University

On the morning of Feb. 1,Chen Min, Party chief and executive vice president of the Shenzhen Reform and Opening Up Executive Leadership Academy, led a delegation to Shenzhen University (SZU) for a survey and signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the SZU. Li Qingquan, Party chief and President of the SZU, Fan Zhigang, vice Party chief of the SZU, Xu Chen, Vice President of the SZU, leaders of relevant departments of the SZU, Che Lei, vice Party chief of the Academy, He Li, secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the Academy, Chen Jiaxi and Fang Min, vice presidents of the Academy, and Gong Zheng, education chief of the Academy attended the signing ceremony.

Li Qingquan said that over the past 38 years since the its foundation, the SZU has followed the city’s steps of development and constantly promoted the systemic reform to cultivate high-quality talents in innovation and entrepreneurship and build a pioneering experimental university of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone (SEZ), and has become a shining star in the rapid growth of the Shenzhen SEZ. Sharing the same cultural origin, the SZU and the Academy are developed along with the growth of Shenzhen with innovative spirits. In the future, the SZU will continue to serve the society and carry out in-depth cooperation with the Academy to develop more cadre training programs. Li said that the two parties can make use of their own advantages to cooperate in various aspects including teaching and training resources sharing, scientific research collaboration, talent training and exchanges, and international cooperation.

Chen Min introduced the overall situation of the Academy. On Nov. 2, 2020, the Shenzhen Reform and Opening Up Executive Leadership Academy was unveiled with great support from the CPC Central Committee, the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee and the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee. The Academy will strive to build itself into a globally-renowned first-level cadre training academy in China. The cooperation with the SZU is the first time for the Academy to join hands with a higher-education institute and is of great significance. The motto of Shenzhen University – “self-reliance, self-discipline, self-improvement” agrees with Shenzhen’s innovative, daring and hardworking spirits. Chen said that he hoped the SZU and the Academy will strengthen cooperation to share resources with each other.

Fan Zhigang introduced the SZU’s efforts to build a high-level university in recent years. He and Che Lei signed the agreement on behalf of the two parties.

According to the agreement, the two parties will establish strategic cooperation, share teachers when necessary, provide each other with training and course resources, carry out academic lectures and teacher training. They will regularly cooperate on topics such as reform and opening up and cadre development, set up joint research groups, cooperate in applying for key research projects at all levels, carry out cooperative research, and strive to facilitate the transformation and implementation of research results. They will also jointly build postdoctoral work platforms and postgraduate practice bases, conduct joint training of talents and expand two-way communication channels. They’ll develop their training programs based on their own features while share training resources and facilitate international cooperation to achieve a win-win situation.
