Academy Signs Agreement with Haitian Publishing House

On the morning of May 21, the signing ceremony for a strategic cooperation between the Shenzhen Reform and Opening Up Executive Leadership Academy and the Haitian Publishing House as well as a Party building activity for both parties were held at the Qianhai campus of the Academy. Chen Min, Party chief and executive vide president of the Academy, Che Lei, vice Party chief of the Academy, He Li, head of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the Academy, Nie Xiongqian, vice Party chief, member of the board, and editor-in-chief of Shenzhen Publishing Group and president and editor-in-chief of the Haitian Publishing House, Hu Zhongjian, executive vice president of the Haitian Publishing House, and leaders of relevant departments, attended the events. Chen Min and Nie Xiongqian signed the agreement on behalf of the two parties.

Chen Min made a general introduction to the Academy and emphasized that the Academy has always focused on the reform and opening up and highlighted practical learning and case studies to build an innovative, open and international teaching platform, training base and exhibition channel. He hoped that the Academy and the publishing house can kick off a new era and embark on a new journey through collaboration.

Nie Xiongqian said that the Haitian Publishing House is the only city-level publishing house and an important part of Shenzhen’s cultural promotion efforts. To serve the cultural construction of Shenzhen, it has published a number of books that promote the achievements and experience of Shenzhen, and “The Chance and Success of Shenzhen in 100 Years” is one of them. He said that the Academy and the publishing house have shared the hope to tell the stories of Shenzhen, Guangdong and China and to promote the spirit of the reform and opening up.

According to the agreement, the two parties will insist on the principles of working towards a win-win situation and coordinated development. They will have in-depth cooperation in developing courses and textbooks. With the Academy’s research results on the Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the construction of Shenzhen into a pilot demonstration zone of socialism with Chinese characteristics and the comprehensive reform, and the publishing house’s books on the reform and opening up and Shenzhen experience, the two parties will join hands to develop high-quality books, textbooks and training courses.

After the signing ceremony, the two parties held a Party-building activity. The Haitian Publishing House sent copies of the book “The Chance and Success of Shenzhen in 100 Years” to the Academy and invited writer Zhang Xiongwen to give a lecture on the Party history. The book is the first book written in the form of documentary literature to depict the CPC’s history in Shenzhen. It was selected into the Party-history books recommended at the first Shenzhen Cadre Reading Week. In his lecture, Zhang told the stories of devoted, hard-working and daring CPC members in Shenzhen and presented to the attendees how the CPC has developed and prospered in Shenzhen. His lecture was highly acclaimed by the attendees.
