1、Maozhou River Exhibition Hall

Class theme: Eradicating aquatic pollution and return clear water to Maozhou River

Basic facts：Originating from the northern foot of Yangtai Mountain, Maozhou River runs 31.3 kilometers through Shenzhen, making it the largest river in the city. The Maozhou River basin was once home to 50,000 industrial enterprises, among which many were serious polluters processing electroplates and circuit boards. Years of wastewater discharge made Maozhou River one of the most polluted rivers in the Pearl River Delta. At the end of 2015, Shenzhen launched a citywide campaign to treat water pollution. Since November 2019, the water quality of Maozhou River has remained stable at Class V or above for surface water. All 45 black and odorous water bodies and 304 polluted minor tributaries turned normal.

2、BYD Company Limited

Class theme: Era of green grand transportation with environmental protection through electricity and multidimensional diversity

3、Shenzhen Institute of Building Research (IBR) Headquarters Building

Class theme: Called a “breathing building,” it has been chosen as a national demonstration project in renewable energy

Basic facts：A paradigm of “green” building in subtropical southern China where summer is hot, humid and long, and winter is warm and short, the Shenzhen IBR Headquarters Building was completed in 2009. Guided by a design concept of sharing, the IBR team has explored a path of environment-friendly building focusing on “local, low-carbon, and tending to details.”

4、Shenzhen Baguang International Bio Valley

Class theme: Building a world-class biotechnology innovation center

Basic facts：With a planning centered around life and health sciences, Baguang will develop bio information, biomedical engineering, biomedicine and high-end medical care, health services, biological resource development, environmental protection and intelligent manufacturing. To achieve this end, it will integrate the industrial resources of the Greater Bay Area and seek global partners. By introducing leading companies, institutions and talents in the industry, Baguang hopes to quickly build a leading bio science and technology innovation center and industrial base.

5、Yantian Energy and Ecology Park

Class theme: Maintaining a sustainable ecology with participation from all

Basic facts：A national-level demonstration project built with imported technology, the Yantian Energy and Ecology Park is a successful example of localization undertaken by Shenzhen Energy Corporation. Approved to be built in September 1999, the project started construction on Aug. 8 in 2002, and was put into operation in December 2003. Rated as “AAA” level (the top level) in safety evaluation of waste-to-energy incineration plants, the project disposes of all the waste produced in Yantian District and part of the domestic waste of Luohu District.
