International forum to address regional uncertainty

An international forum was held simultaneously in Europe, Beijing and Shenzhen on July 14 via video link.

The forum, themed with regional uncertainty and scientific development, was co-sponsored by World Association for Regional Sciences and the School of Public Policy & Management of Tsinghua University. It attracted dozens of famous scholars from home and abroad to participate. About 20 scholars from 11 countries, including academician of International Eurasian Academy of Science Baoxing Qiu and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering Renzhong Guo, were invited to give keynote speeches at the forum. Shenzhen Reform and Opening Up Executive Leadership Academy also took part in the forum and served as a venue of the international gathering.

According to insiders, the forum not only contributed to the development of regional economy and theoretical innovation, but also provided new ideas for the developing tendency of various regions in the world in the wave of the new round of scientific and technological innovation. Moreover, under the influence of pandemic over the past two odd years, strengthening global exchanges and regional cooperation seemed more precious and significant.

Actually, the forum was a preliminary meeting of a bigger international conference which is expected to be held in Shenzhen in October this year.
