Set Sail in the Greater Bay Area — the 2021 Bao'an District "Sailing Plan" Training Course for Selected Students Successfully Completed

On August 6, the 2021 Bao’an District "Sailing Plan" training course for selected students, which was organized by the Organization Department of the CPC Bao’an District Committee and undertaken by the Shenzhen Reform and Opening Up Executive Leadership Academy, was successfully concluded at the training base of the academy. During the 5 days from August 2 to August 6, 46 trainees studied diligently, thought actively and cooperated with each other.

Political education to strengthen Party spirit

The training took Party education as the core, with the original aspiration and mission, ideological renewal and Party tempering running through the whole training period. First, we organized the trainees to visit the bronze statue of Deng Xiaoping in Lianhua Hill Park and present flowers, and to study the history of the Party and the history of Shenzhen's reform and development at the Shenzhen Party History Museum; Secondly, welaunched a special lecture on the topic of "drawing the strength of unremitting struggle from the great spirit of the founding of the CPC - learning to implement the spirit of the important speech delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the conference celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China." Through a combination of on-site teaching and lectures, participants were led to trace the footprints of Shenzhen in the 100 years of the CPC history, in an effort to constantly enrich the connotation of Party education and promote Party education to go deeper and more practical.

Learning theory for improvement

Based on the needs of the grassroots work for the selected students, the academy tailor-designed the courses according to the needs of the teaching, in a bid to ensure that the students can learn somethingand put what they’ve learned into practice.

Revolving around the actual conditions of Shenzhen and Bao’an District, the academy opened courses such as “the Guidelines Given by General Secretary Xi Jinping in his Speeches Delivered at the Ceremony Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and During his Inspection to Guangdong” and “Bao’an’s historical situation and medium and long-term development plan,” which helps participants grasp a general picture of the development of Shenzhen and Bao'an and gain a deeper understanding of the Shenzhen spirit of “boldness, openness, tolerance, pragmatism and the pursuit of excellence.” Revolving around grassroots governance, courses such as "The Practice of Shenzhen North Railway Station of Co-Construction, Co-Governance and Sharing" and "Urban Community Governance in the Context of Big Data" were set up. Participants went to Nanling Village to learn about its practical experience of developing and growing collective economy, and visited the Cloud Park in Longgang District to see the Internet+Smart Park construction characterized by the integration of industry and city and to directly learn the advanced experience of grassroots governance. Revolving around the occupational capacity enhancement, courses such as "Administrative Capacity Enhancement for Young Cadres" and "Enhancing Communication Skills and Resolving Grassroots Conflicts" were conducted to help participants improve their ability to carry out mass work, solve problems and promote their work based on the actual conditions of their communities.

Trainees show their skills in competitions

In order to create a good learning atmosphere and display the results of the course, the training was divided into groups for competitions. After each lecture, each group took turns to talk about their learning experience; at the closing ceremony, one excellent classcommittee member and seven excellent students were selected; at the end of the training, each student submitted a 1500-word essay to share their feelings. In particular, during the national research theme salon activities, 20 research groups shared the results of the exchange of research work one by one. Participants exchanged views around topics including community Party building, grassroots governance paths, micro renovations of old neighborhoods and intelligent community construction.

At the course-completion ceremony, the participants said

In the face of new circumstances, we should learn to draw wisdom and strength from the history of Shenzhen's reform and development and to emancipate our minds and be brave to innovative.

As young grassroots workers, we should not only promote the spirit of the ox in working tirelessly, but also learn to learn from others and do a practical work in a smart way.
