Led by Gao Chongxiong, vice principal of Yulin Party School, a total of 47 students of the 14th training session for young and middle-age cadres from Yulin City came to attend a training course at the Shenzhen Reform and Opening Up Executive Leadership Academy from May 23 to May 28.
They hoped to learnthe spirit of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone of being enterprising, pioneering and hard-working, and the experience of reform and innovation, thus contributing to the high-quality economic and social development of Yuling City during the period of 14th Five-Year Plan.
Che Lei, vice secretary of the CPC Committee of Shenzhen Reform and Opening Up Executive Leadership Academy, attended the closing ceremony of the training and extended warm congratulations on the successful completion of the training.
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, Yulin Party School has organized several batches of students to receive training at the academy.
In accordance with the goal and requirements of the training as well as the feedback from previous trainees, the academy optimized the teaching design and organization of this training.
The training focused on the plan forcoordinated development of regions during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. It combined the training content with the reality of Yulin City and opened lectures, on-site research and exchanges on business environment, innovative development and patriotism. Trainees learned about the experiences of constructing the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and building Shenzhen into a Pilot Demonstration Area of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, as well as suggestions for the high-quality development of Yulin City.
During the training, they visited Lianhua Hill Park,Shenzhen Museum of the Communist Party of China, Qianhai, Nanshan Hi-Tech Park and renowned Shenzhen enterprises. After these on-site researches, the trainees better learned about the 40-year reform and opening history of Shenzhen and its innovative development.
It happened to rain heavily when the trainees paid tribute to Deng Xiaopingstatue on the top of Lianhua Hill Park. However, they all climbed up to the plaza on the top of the hill in spite of the rain, laid a basket of flowers in homage to the late leader and bowed in front of the bronze statue of Deng, expressing their deep admiration for Deng, a great leader and chief architect of China’s reform and opening up policy.
Students were deeply impressed by this training.
“From the lectures I have learned advanced concepts and felt the development of Shenzhen, which is eye-opening,” said Hu Tengfei after attending two theme lectures.
After visitingShenzhen Museum of the Communist Party of China and Qianhai, Li Yufeng, a trainee from Yulin, said: “If you are close-minded, you will lack behind and suffer, but if you are open-minded, you will see a whole new world. Calm waters do not train strong sailors. Similarly, a comfortable environment does not create heroes of the era.”
For Ren Xiaoyan, the teaching concepts of the Shenzhen Reform and Opening Up Executive Leadership Academy were quite advanced and she liked the design of the academy’s logo.
“Walking into Shenzhen, we see the cradle of reform and opening up by ourselves. Here we learned about frontier thinking and felt the charm of technology,” said Wu Hao after visiting Nanshan Hi-Tech Park and the hi-tech enterprises.
After the one-week training, Liu Xiaorong said:“Shenzhen is a young and dynamic city.”
For Wang Jin, the transport is very convenient in Shenzhen and parks are everywhere.
“Shenzhen is a pioneer in reform and there is a lot for us to learn from,” said Liu Wenbo.
“Yulin still has a long way to go in its development,” said Wang Bohao after returning to Yulin City.
“Shenzhen is amazing and the Shenzhen Reform and Opening Up Executive Leadership Academy is very new. I hope we can come here again,” said Wang Xiaodong.
“After coming back from Shenzhen, I have a new wish, wishing that Yulin will make the achievements Shenzhen has made in the future,” said Zhang Tianming.
The feedbacks from the trainees are not onlya recognition of the academy, but also of Shenzhen. The Shenzhen Reform and Opening Up Executive Leadership Academy was established in celebration of the 40th anniversary of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone and thus has a special mission. The academy will stick to its schooling philosophy and focus on reform and opening up. It will utilize the practical experience of Shenzhen’s reform and opening up for its training, aiming to teach trainees with real-life cases.
