Peking University Successfully Concludes Faculty Development Program in Shenzhen

Peking University (PKU) held a faculty members workshop in Shenzhen from November 27 to 30, 2025, aimed at fostering the growth of its academic staff. Organized by PKU’s HR Department and in partnership with the Shenzhen Reform and Opening Up Executive Leadership Academy (SZROELA), the program combined theoretical insights with practical experiences through expert lectures, case studies, site visits, and discussions.

The curriculum focused on national development strategies and Shenzhen’s reform and innovation landscape, including sessions on national priorities and a case study highlighting Shenzhen’s advancements in technology and social governance. Field visits to Huawei offered firsthand views of technological innovations and talent development challenges, while cruise tours of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link showcased intelligent manufacturing and green technologies.

At Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School, a dedicated session promoted interdisciplinary collaboration and industry-academia partnerships, enhancing connections between PKU campuses. An interactive seminar led by SZROELA explored key milestones in China’s reform and opening-up, linking theory with practice.

Participants praised the program for its unique ability to bridge national strategies and local development, providing an immersive learning experience that reinforced their dedication to incorporating these insights into teaching and research. The success of this program marks a significant step in innovating faculty development at PKU and lays a strong foundation for future collaboration with SZROELA.
