In September 2020, Chinese President Xi Jinping announced in the 75th United Nations Assembly that China aims to peak carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by the year of 2060. This is not only the need of our social and economic transformation and upgrading, but also our solemn commitment to the international community.

After the lessons, two professors interacted with listeners and answered questions patiently. The two speeches were presided over by Haitao Dong, vice-president of the leadership academy in both Chinese and English.

“As China’s pilot zone and demonstration area for reform and opening up to the outside world, internationalization is one of the most important characteristics of Shenzhen. Only by insisting on such a inclusive, pioneering, innovative and international spirit, can Shenzhen develop from a small fishing town into a prosperous metropolitan city with more than 20 million residents in about 40 years. Such a spirit was the key and password to our past achievements, In a highly competitive society, such a spirit is surely and will be an important guarantee for our further development and future prosperity,”Dong said.

According the Dong, the academy will  continuously hold such international forums and try the best to build the academy into an important platform for communication between China and foreign countries, for upholding and the promotion of Chinese culture.
